Wild fun for kids ages 6 to 12!
Adventure Camps at the Alaska Zoo are full behind-the-scenes experiences for youth to learn about our animals, their care, and conservation. These programs are held daily on summer weekdays and on all Anchorage School District in-service and holidays during the winter season. Each camp includes many hands-on activities, chats with zookeepers, animal demonstrations and more. Camps are paid by for by individual days, so sign up for as many as you wish. The daily camp fees are $70 per child (for zoo passholders) and $85 per child (for non-passholders). Fees include two snacks, drinks, a lunch and program supplies.
Adventure Camps start at 9:00am and end at 3:00 pm. No before or after-care is offered at this time, so we ask that authorized adults drop-off and pick-up campers at the times listed. Camps are based from our Gateway classroom, located inside the Gateway entrance building by going down the main steps to the front of the zoo and turning left. Campers must be dropped off and picked up inside the classroom.
Each camp focuses on a conservation or animal care topic, with encounters and time with zookeepers included. Camps are open to children ages 6 to 12.
