Be dazzled by custom light displays and canopies at Zoo Lights this winter on Alaska Zoo trails!

Zoo Lights is our annual community light festival spread across the 30 acres of maintained zoo trails. Visitors from across Alaska and around the world visit Zoo Lights, and local families make it a holiday tradition to visit with loved ones and guests.

Zoo Lights Times:

  • November through February: 5-8pm (7:30pm last entry).

  • March: 7-9:30pm due to evening light conditions (9pm last entry).

Open Zoo Lights Dates:

  • Opening Night: November 28 (Black Friday), 2025, 5-8pm

  • November 28-20, December 5-7, December 12-14, 5-8pm

  • Nightly December 19, 2025 - January 4, 2026, 5-8pm

  • No Zoo Lights on December 25th (zoo closed Christmas Day)

  • February 13-15 (Valentines Weekend), 5-8pm

  • March 6-15 (ASD Spring Break plus weekends), 7-9:30pm

Tickets:

  • $25/person ages 3+

  • Zoo members ages 3+ receive a $10 discount per ticket by signing in to their current and active membership account online before buying Zoo Lights tickets. Adjusted price will appear in the last stages of checkout.

  • Ages 2 and under are free

  • Tickets are available online and at the gate during open Zoo Lights hours. CyberMonday tickets may only be purchased online during the one-day sale on December 1st.

CyberMonday Sale:

Each year, we offer a one-day discount on Zoo Lights tickets on CyberMonday. The price for 2025 CyberMonday Zoo Lights tickets will be $13/ticket, regardless of zoo membership status. This sale price will be available online only from 12am-11:59pm AK time on Monday, December 1, 2025. Many people purchase blocks of these tickets for the discounted price, then give them out as holiday gifts and stocking stuffers for friends, family and co-workers. Each ticket is valid for one use during the open Zoo Lights date/time of choice. The sale price will be available here starting at 12am AK time on December 1st.
