Animal Adoptions

(formerly the Animal Sponsorship Program)

Choose any zoo species to adopt at one of the following levels. Your adoption helps to defray the cost of animal care for the species you select. Animal adoptions make perfect holiday gifts too! We are a 501(c)3 nonprofit zoo. We appreciate your support of our mission to help wildlife in need while providing community education programs.

Basic Adoption Levels

Zoo Manager Adoption Levels

The following Zoo Manager levels allow you to choose of one of the shown 5x7 prints from the original works of Jill Myer Artist, click here to visit her website. We commissioned Jill to paint works inspired by animal photos taken by Zoo Photographer John Gomes.

There is also a George the magpie print included by Heather Doncaster.

Follow these steps:

1. Select one of the Zoo Manager levels ($250, $500 or $1,000).

2. During checkout, you will select the species you wish to adopt at the zoo.

3. You will also select the print of your choice. The print does not have to be the same as the species you are adopting. Choose the print you like best!

4. The print of your choice will be mailed to you. Each print will be sent in a recycled plastic sleeve with a backing and artist bio. The prints are unframed and unmatted. Please allow two business weeks from your purchase for the arrival of your print in the mail. We will add more to this print collection soon!

$250 - Senior Zookeeper Level

• All Digital and Zookeeper items above, plus…

• 2 one-time Zoo Lights evening passes (value of $36)

• 1 mailed zoo animal print of your choice (value of $50)

• Alaska Zoo sticker ($5 value)

• Two (2) tickets the the Private Adoption Event on August 25th, 5-7:30pm at the zoo.

• Option A (everything included above) will receive a tax-deductible amount of $159.00

• Option B - Donate at the $250 level, receive everything listed at the digital level, plus the 2 tickets to the adoption night and a full tax donation of $250.

$500 - Curator Level

• All Digital and Zookeeper items above, plus…

• 4 one-time Zoo Lights evening passes (value of $72)

• 1 mailed zoo animal print of your choice (value of $50)

• An Alaska Zoo sticker ($5 value)

• Four (4) tickets the the Private Adoption Event on August 25th, 5-7:30pm at the zoo.

• Option A (everything included) will receive a tax-deductible amount of $373.00

• Option B - Donate at the $500 level, receive everything listed at the digital level, plus the 4 tickets to adoption night and a full tax-donation of $500.

$1,000 - Director Level

• All Digital and Zookeeper items above, plus…

• 6 one-time Zoo Lights evening passes (value of $108)

• 1 mailed zoo animal print of your choice (value of $50)

• An Alaska Zoo sticker ($5 value)

• Eight (8) tickets the the Private Adoption Event on August 25th, 5-7:30pm at the zoo.

• Option A (everything included above) will receive a tax-deductible amount of $837.00

• Option B - Donate at the $1,000 level, receive everything listed at the digital level, plus the 8 tickets to adoption night and receive a full tax donation of $1,000.
