Keeper Encounters

Description:  We offer two types of encounters with zookeepers and their animals.  Animal Encounters offer an extended focus on the one species of your choice, while Keeper-for-a-Day sessions offer shadows with multiple keepers.  Open to both adults and youth.

  • Keeper-for-a-Day:  Did you ever want to see what a zookeeper does all day?  Spend a day with our keepers, one on one, from 10:00 AM until 3:00 PM.  Feed a polar bear, help prepare diets, and more.
  • Animal Encounters:  Hang out with the polar bears or wolves and keepers.  Participate in making diets, providing enrichment, cleaning, and training.
 
Encounter Type: Fees:
Keeper-for-a-Day $150.00 donation/person.
  Fees are paid in advance of your scheduled encounter.
  Runs from 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM on the day of your choice.
  Program is offered to ages 12 and up.
  Ages 8 - 11 only with a paid chaperone in attendance.
   
Animal Encounters $65.00 donation/person ages 12 and up.
  $30.00 donation/child age 11 and under w/ paid adult.
  Fees are paid in advance of your scheduled encounter.
  Encounters are up to 2 hours, times flexible.
